Circuit Gilles Villeneuve is situated on a man-made island in the middle of the St Lawrence River, in the city of Montreal. The circuit is quite fast, but the race track is not as challenging as other tracks.
The circuit is 4.36 km long. A total of 13 corners with 8 right turns and 5 left turns. The driving direction is clockwise.
Barriers run close to the circuit and many experienced drivers have been caught out by them. A particularly famous part of the circuit is the wall on the outside of the exit of the final chicane. The wall has been nicknamed "The Wall of Champions" since many famous drivers has fallen victims to the wall.
